UPPER ROOM FAMILY CHURCH - LAKEWOOD

Glory to God !!!  God has lead us to a core group of believers that have been believing God for years to deliver a full gospel work in this area.  Pastor Shane met with this group Tuesday, March 4th and knew that God had divinely ordained this meeting.

Our first church service was  held on March 30th at the Lakewood Town Hall.  Our last church service at the Town Hall will be on June 8th.  There will be no church service on June 17th.  Future church services will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church of Lakewood starting on June 22nd.  Please see the map below for location information.  All are welcome.  For further information please contact Pastor Shane at 715-276-3255.

The following is a personal testimony of one of the Lakewood Church members:

Hello all... I am not sure if you all have heard how this has come to pass, and I am still floored that God used me in the start up of a full gospel church right here in Lakewood, but here is the story...The last week of February I came across an article in the local newspaper (which I normally NEVER read and ALMOST threw away) written by a pastor from a small church in Elcho (about 45 minutes from here).

Here is what the article read....

                                                      Upper Room Family Church

We the Body of Christ at Upper Room Family Church, Elcho, know God has called us to plant a church in the Laona-Townsend area. Our church is a non-denominational, Spirit-filled, Bible-believing, family oriented church where you can feel at home. We believe the family is under the greatest attack it has ever been. In these times we now live in, we know that there are many people held in bondage to alcohol, drugs, perversion, gambling, divorce, fear, depression, lonliness, and many others. Our goal is to show them that Jesus cares and wants to help them put their lives back together. So if you are someone who desires a change in your life or in your family, why don't you consider letting the Lord give you a hand. Why not, He's got all the answers to make your life better, and we would like to help! So feel free to call us at 715-276-3255, or see us on the web at upperroomch.org

I was immediately interested in the article, so I checked out the website. Everything looked great and the next day I spoke with Pastor Shane for a lengthy time. I felt as if I had known him for years, he was humble, down to earth and had a notable sense of humor. I could tell just by speaking with him that he shared God's vision and had an aching heart for the lost. I sensed that he was very in tune with the Holy Spirit and obedient to the will of The Father. I told him that my Mother-in-law, as well as many others have been praying faithfully for 27+ years for God to do a full-gospel work in this area. I also told him how David and I and the kids have been driving 45 minutes to church for more than 8 years to a Spirit-filled church (Hillside Assembly in Gillett) and that we have a really hard time getting plugged in because of the distance. I told of how we love the church we go to, but I struggle because when I feel I want to invite someone to church it is just too far away...besides, our son, Trentyn, never wanted to go because he did not really know or go to school with any other kids there.

After talking with Pastor Shane, I called my mother-in-law, Marilyn to tell her all about our conversation...she was thrilled.  Pastor Shane suggested we meet the following week. Our first service was on March 30, and things are going great.  It is amazing how things just come together when they are orchestrated by God. Each week, a group of people come over from Elcho, including Pastor, Worship Team, Ushers and someone who works with the kids. They are doing it because they know that they are doing the Lord's work and they are just as excited as we are! Glory to God! Please keep us all in your prayers, that we may be able to move from our temporary home in the Lakewood Town Hall to a building of our own. Please pray that this fire keeps burning in all of our hearts and pray that many lives are touched and souls are saved in Jesus name through the Upper Room Family Church of Lakewood!!!  Please check out the website, it has many updates and photos and now a prayer request page... www.upperroomch.org if you have any questions, email me, I would love to hear from you! Also, please try to make it to one of our services, you will love it! Sundays at 6 pm, or if you are interested in getting involved with a Bible study, we have two...look on the website.  God Bless you!

With Love,

Heather
