Choosing an Abundant Life

As busy as life is for all of us, it's not hard to see why so many people do not attend church, read God's word and struggle in believing God.  There are many distractions in this world to keep us out of touch with our heavenly Father, which should be our first priority.  Sunday's have become just another day of the week to work, shop, play etc.  My question to all of us would be "are we living a life for God and doing things that please Him and others, or are we living a life doing things that just please us?"

If we have chosen the latter, we would be playing right into the devil's hand without knowing it.  The devil is a master at keeping people from knowing God and what God has in store for them.  You  won't have time for others because all of your time is for you, and the things that are important to you.  The devil will have your family pulling you in one direction and the world pulling you in another.

The truth of the matter is that you will be too busy for anything or anyone else.  John 10:10 states, "the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly!"

So you have to ask yourself, "Am I living an abundant life or am I merely existing?"  God doesn't want you to merely exist, God wants you to live an abundant life.  Living a life for us means we will experience fear, unforgiveness, unrest, being unsatisfied and unfulfilled.  The Lord does not want you to have a life like this.  He loves you and wants you to have an abundant life.  That's why 1 Timothy 2:4 says, "God desires all people to be saved, and come to the knowledge of truth."  When we do we will be living a life that God wants for us where we will experience God's love, peace, joy, health, forgiveness, and all of our lives will be abundant with God and man!
